Fall Warmth
So it hasn’t really gotten too cold in SoCal yet, at least not during the day where temperatures are still up in the 80’s. Kimonos have been trending lately and I adore this lightweight multi printed kimono from AMI Clubwear! It’s the perfect pop for any outfit, especially a plain outfit such as mine. I wanted the focus to be on the kimono so I paired it with studded black shorts, a basic white tank top and ankle booties. I was comfortable throughout the day and into the evening. I apologize for the brief summary but I don’t have much time now. Until next post, enjoy these shots by the boyfriend 🙂

Blushing Sunsets
Last week was Style Fashion Week and although I did not have the time to attend every evening of the event, I was able to make it to Tuesday night’s show. As a guest of Civil Society (thank you for the VIP treatment), I was able to witness some wonderful designs up close and personal. In addition, I met the gorgeous beauty blogger, Holly Annaeree along with a few members of Quest Crew! Full recap of the event will be released shortly.
My outfit of the night was a beautiful Dusty Peach Strappy Back Stylish Chic Dress from AMI Clubwear. I adore the faux leather strap detailing of the back of this dress and the empire waistline. The only complaint I have is about the fit. I received this dress in a small, however their small fits loosely on me and I had to tie the straps at the waist around myself three times. I’ve also found that “small” at AMI Clubwear is the incorrect size for me. I definitely need a XS when it comes to their clothes. For shoes, I also advise sizing down as they run rather large.
Overall, AMI Clubwear has tons of cute selections but stock runs out quick so make sure to buy it as soon as you see it! The upside is that they add new items everyday. Thank you AMI Clubwear for the dress!
Shoes – Forever 21; Speedy 30 Damier Ebene – Louis Vuitton; Accessories from Forever 21
*Disclosure: Dress was gifted by AMI Clubwear.
The Red Lipstick
My final outfit for San Diego Fashion Week was this black romper from Urban Outfitters that I instantly fell in love with. Paired up with leopard print low heels and MAC’s lipstick, it was the perfect outfit for the finale night of SDFW. We were really running behind this night so pardon my expression, as I wasn’t too happy about being late. FYI, the clutch had a pair of black flats as backup, as you never know when you may need a quick wardrobe change.
As for accessories, this necklace from Forever 21 and the bracelet was made by Jenny. I kept it simple, as I wanted the focus to stay on the romper. I cannot wait to wear it again, it’s so comfty and cute!Â
During intermission, I headed over to the step and repeat to squeeze in a photo, but ended up doing an impromptu interview about the show. It was my first time on camera and I hope I didn’t sound too nervous! Can’t wait to see the end result later. Be on the lookout for it 🙂
Pre-LAFW StyleHaus Event
The LA Fashion Council hosted the Spring 2014 Collections at The Grove last week, kicking off with a pre-event at Stylehaus. You wouldn’t believe that this space used to be where the restrooms and ATM machine! We had the pleasure of meeting creative director, Marina Monroe along with stylists Jessica, Bethany and Janelle. All were super sweet and had great style. I particularly loved the vintage top Bethany wore.
For this evening, I chose a simple navy blue dress I found at Goodwill for $6. I’ve been on a thrifting spree and have been fortunate to find so many cute items at amazing prizes lately. Heels are from Forever 21, the black beaded bracelet is by Yuwei Designs and the black/gold piece is by my good friend, Jenny.
Champagne was served alongside delicious appetizers. I admired the cute items around the store, especially the shoes and delicate jewelry pieces. KSole and I had a wonderful time chatting with the Stylehaus team and Gina, of the LA Fashion Council.
Calm Before The Storm
It’s a bit overdue but here was my outfit for the first night I attended San Diego Fashion Week. I love the fit of this dress and the best part, I found it at a thrift store for $2! I love great fashion finds. The night was a bit of a rush as we tried to find parking, while running slightly behind. Luckily, the show was running a little late so we got there right when the show started.
I paired the dress with a Forever 21 belt, bracelets from Style Says (which I wore on my arm because my wrist is tiny) and ankle boots from G Stage for a comfortable evening look. For the full recap of the event, click here.
Putting In Work
As unbelievable as it sounds, I recently had my first plane ride, and it was to Vegas. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw photos from my trip to the International Lingerie Show (ILS) a couple of weeks ago. I had a great time with my co-workers and definitely enjoyed the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars. It is worth every penny. I loved it so much the first time, I went back within the same week. I flew to Vegas for ILS and stayed Sunday to Tuesday, then drove back with friends Friday and stayed for the weekend. Yes, crazy but well worth the lack of sleep. Make sure to check my Instagram for the cute dress that Spurst gifted me (and that I wore out to Hakkasan).
Aside from the Vegas trip, I recently wrapped up a shoot at work, in which I had full control over (for the first time). From model casting to hiring the photographer, along with styling the models and being able to watch over the shoot, I absolutely loved every moment of it. I can honestly say that it is one of my favorite shoots by far (at work). We had the wonderful, very talented, Steve Bitanga, shooting for us. It was our first time working together but it will not be our last! Our make-up and hair stylist was a complete sweetheart and created the exact looks we wanted; thank you so much Rachelle! Major props to our models, Tierra and Tashia, adore them to death and they rocked it on the set. Cannot wait to see the finished photos!
In-between the wardrobe change, I took the opportunity to “test” the lighting out for Steve 🙂 In result, I present to you my outfit for this day. Thank you Kleenest Culture for the top (I made some minor alterations on it). Bracelet from Pangea LE. Heels are from Forever 21 and jeans are from Q Fashion. Thanks Steve for the shots!!
StyleSays Contest Winner
“Think of us as an online store curated by inspirational bloggers.”
A website that allows you to connect with your favorite fashion blogger by shopping their look and their picks. Sure, clicking on links from the blog post works but Style Says takes it to another level by allowing you to simply add whatever it is you love about the look into the cart. Yes, you can own the same item you see in the picture! If Style Says happens to not carry the item, they will certainly send you the direct place to purchase 🙂 No more Googling the item and trying to figure out where you can get it! Talk about a time saver.
Style Says recently had a Facebook contest in which by luck, I won an entire outfit from them! It was hard to pick just a few items, I love everything on that site. If winning an entire outfit wasn’t already enough, they allowed me to pick one friend to gift an outfit to as well! I chose my good friend and fashionista, Christine. You might recognize her from a few photo shoots I’ve done with her. You may also know her from Instagram. Having shot her several times, it was fun to find out that we’d be able to shoot together! We met up with Emily in Chinatown recently and did a fun shoot featuring the outfits we chose. All items can be found on StyleSays.com!
The Vacant House
Does it count as trespassing if there were no signs telling us we couldn’t roam the property? Plus the house was in the middle of the neighborhood so it’s okay right? Well, either way we took advantage of the creepy look of this abandoned house. There were letters of notices on the door and windows, stating that the house is completely out of shape and unstable. We didn’t go inside and if you saw this house, you wouldn’t want to either. Looks like a haunted house from the movies. But anyways, this fall look is for those who want something comfortable and easy to wear.
The sweater is by Stussy, jeans from Forever 21 and shoes are by Bamboo. A perfect lazy day look for this season!
Mad Decent Block Party
Mad Decent Block Party in San Diego was amazing! It was held at Petco Park Stadium on Sunday, September 15th. Performances included Major Lazer, Dillon Francis, Zeds Dead, Jack U, The Party Squad and more. I was excited to see Diplo (as did every other girl there), but enjoyed all the other DJs. Of course, after 10 hours of dancing, I was dead and with work the next morning, we left a little earlier than everyone else.
The number one thing I wanted for the outfit was comfort. Combat boots are always my go-to choice and a loose top helps with the heat. My F21 kitten shirt got plenty of compliments as did my “bitch” beanie from Urban Outfitters. I love articles of clothing that are vulgar, just because I have a potty mouth and wearing it gets me in less trouble (oddly). Photos were taken right before we headed out, the venue would not allow us to bring in the camera 😦
